Remote Support

Networking-setup-imageTime is money.  When something goes wrong on your network, you need it fixed ASAP.  You might be some distance to your IT service provider and waiting for someone to pitch drive you crazy.  This is where remote support plays a big role.

What is remote support?

In the old days remote support actually meant telephone support.  You will contact your IT engineer and tried to explain, in your term, what exactly the problem might be.  We all have something that we are good in.  I can just imagine a motor car mechanic phoning me and trying to explain how to change a spark plug over the phone.

My problem will end up much worse than it is.  Same goes for some people trying to explain to an IT helpdesk person what is wrong with their pc.  Lot’s of hum’s hay’s, some silent moments, some outcries about someone called Bill and maybe a lot of swearing in your mind.  Remote support is the answer.

When we setup a server in you office, we setup a VPN for us to tunnel to your network and take over your pc.  That sounds nasty you might think.  It’s actually is not and only sound bad.  Basically we setup your network that when you have a problem, we could help as if we are sitting in front of your pc.

What are the advantages of remote support?

Well firstly you do not have to know some difficult tasks like right click on the icon on your taskbar.  No more stuff like that.  You are helped in a more timely fashion.  Even if your favourite IT person is with someone else, he will still be able to help you.  It’s an all win situation.  The IT engineer does not have to spend half of its day driving between clients and the clients does not have to wait 3 days for someone to pitch.

What do you need for remote support?

You need a decent connection to the internet like ADSL.  You need your firewall setup to allow incoming connections.  There we go again.  Let’s ask the question again.

What do you need for remote support?

Give us a tickle and we will send you a quote for the complete setup.  Remember our commitment to OSS, Open source software, and thus it might be a lot less then you might think.
