VPN

Networking-setup-imageYou just open you second office and you would like to access the network at new office to check their sales figures.  At the moment the person responsible for the figures is mailing the spreadsheet to you.  As time goes by, you have all the copies and versions of the same file on your pc and inbox and you no longer know what the latest figures is.

It could be must easier to just access the file on the server at the new office whenever you like to see the new figures.  No need to wait for email.  You can even check it when you are at home and did not have time during the day.
A VPN could be a good solution for you.  Now what is a VPN (virtual private network)?  It is basically you own little tunnel between your offices.  For those sci-fi people out there.  Think about Stargate SG-1.  A VPN is a worm hole between your offices.  The worm hole forms in space between two worlds like a VPN forms in the Internet between your offices.

For the not so sci-fi very much.  When building or maintaining high rise buildings, builders sometimes build a tube of dust bins to chuck in their rubbish.  Basically they create a tube or tunnel from the 3rd floor for example to a rubbish bin at the bottom.  A VPN is basically the same.  It’s a tunnel between your offices to transfer information in a way that the world are not able to see what you transfer.
If this is something that you think might benefit you, we can help.
