What is web hosting?  First you need someone to design you a website.  Then you want people to brows your website.  If someone wants to brows your website, they must be to find your site somewhere on the Internet. 

Normally someone enters your website address and your site appears on their browser.  To achieve this, your website’s files must be on a server that is permanently connected to the Internet and open to accept requests for pages.

It’s like having your website at a 24hour service station.  It does not matter what time of day people visit the service station, it’s always open and they are able to fill up their car and maybe buy a chocolate.  The goes for your website.  If you want people to visit your site 24/7, it must be available all the time.
